We initially received good service from Jordan with our electric/gas meter Boxing, really nice work from Matt. However, after contracting Jordan Khan to fix our reclaimed wood front door and fit it, it has literally been a nightmare and I would strongly advise against dealing with this ‘Tradesman’.
In October 2023, we agreed to pay a deposit of 50% on the promise that if we did, Jordan would complete the work in November 2023, if we didn’t he couldn’t guarantee if he would have availability. Jordan never turned up in November and after providing every excuse under the sun, ignoring calls, WhatsApp messages and emails – I finally threatened to take legal action against him in April 2024 for the retrieval of my door and deposit. This prompted a response (within 15 minutes) and Jordan arrived in two weeks at lunchtime after trying to delay again. On arrival, the door and frame hadn’t been painted properly and I was not happy with the quality of the frame or beading, but at that point I was desperate for my door to be fitted.
However, when he left that day, the door frame came away from the wall due to a poorly installed wall plug. At that point I had lost all confidence and was beyond frustrated with him. so I decided to ask Jordan not to come back. He did offer to correct his mistakes, but I’m not sure if blowing my brains out would have been a better option at that point.

My door has since been installed by another tradesman, but I am now left with a door that cracks in the sun/heat and one that has been excessively trimmed apparently.
I would not recommend Jordan Khan of Cleave and Fell Carpentry because he will take your money and ghost you for 5 months.

Avoid at any cost. I wish we had seen some of the recent reviews before we handed over 50% deposit for an under the stairs storage solution. We paid Jordan in February 2024 and the closet was due to be installed in May 24. Jordan went quiet on us in May and eventually send us a long message about how busy they’ve been and apologising. We set 2-3 new instalment dates since but every single time Jordan failed to turn up and we received a complete radio silence. Eventually we got a long message apologising and giving us more false promises. Jordan if you are reading this review, you should be ashamed of yourself.

We’ve had a nightmare experience with Jordan Khan from Cleave and Fell and would NOT recommend getting involved with him.

We paid Jordan a 50% deposit of £2280 on 4th March 2024 to replace our staircase bannisters and install custom understairs storage. We agreed an installation date of 20th May 2024, however the work has never been started. Jordan has never contacted us to inform us of delays – we have always had to chase him for information. It usually takes days, often weeks for him to respond.

Jordan didn’t show up for any of the three postponed installation dates he gave us, and we were unable to reach him for almost the entire month of August. We eventually had to track him down and wait at his workshop to talk to him face-to-face because he just would not respond via call, text or email. This visit prompted him to finally send us digital designs of our project (that he had promised to send in April!) however the measurements were incorrect, and the design was not what we had discussed, so we asked him to refund our deposit. He responded a week later to tell us he could not afford to pay us back immediately and would need to pay us back in two instalments.

Unsurprisingly, the first instalment date came and went, and we did not receive any of our money back from Jordan. On 1st October I shared our bad experience with Cleave and Fell on my Instagram account, which suddenly prompted Jordan to email me, and then pay back £1140 (half) of our deposit on 2nd October. He promised to call me by 4th October to update us on when we would receive the rest of our money, but we didn’t hear anything and have not been able to reach him since. As of today (10th October 2024) he still owes us the remaining £1140 of our deposit.

Our experience of Jordan and Cleave and Fell has been terrible. We instructed him to build us a built in cupboard and paid a big deposit for it. Many months have passed of missed visits, ignored messages, broken promises. He has now decided to ignore all our messages and not return our deposit. Please avoid at all costs, terrible business.

Jordan took a £2400 deposit in July 2023 for a project involving installing inbuilt cupboards and wooden panelling. He did not complete the work or return our deposit.

It’s basically theft. Jordan doesn’t answer his phone or respond to emails. He did however manage to find the money for a Glastonbury ticket…

If you have paid money to Cleave and Fell and had a similar experience please contact Citizen’s Advice to report the matter on 0808 223 1133. I’d strongly urge you not to enter into an agreement with this business.
